CHICAGO (AFP) – A judge Friday finalized the contentious divorce of Dwyane Wade, but the Miami Heat star faces continuing fights over financial issues and custody of his children.
Cook County Judge Marya Nega announced her widely expected decision in a brief hearing on Friday.
The NBA player said he was relieved that the proceedings are over and his split from wife, Siobvaughn, was official.
Siohvaughn Wade's lawyer said he would appeal on the grounds that other issues have yet to be resolved.
Nega said her previous orders, including one granting Dwyane Wade temporary custody of their children, remain in place for the time being.
