STOP THE VIOLENCE PEOPLE! NOW! IMMEDIATELY!

It's hard to see the video of honor student, Derrion Alberts being literally beaten until death. It's sad because there in highest office in the land, stands the first African American president. But yet, we still can't do better? Stop the violence! If you would like to promote those type of actions, serve in our arm forces. Not on the streets of our people!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the suspects accused of killing an honor student in a beating captured on tape in Chicago has admitted to jumping on the victim's head after he was already lying on the ground, said a spokeswoman for the Cook County state's attorney.

In the videotaped confession, 19-year-old Silvanus Shannon also said that the victim, Derrion Albert, 16, never struck him, said the spokeswoman, Tandra Simonton.

Three teens arrested in Albert's death -- Silvanus Shannon, 19; Eric Carson, 16; and Eugene Riley, 18 -- were seen on the videotape attacking Albert, and were charged with first degree murder and held without bail, Simonton said. Monday night authorities said they charged a fourth suspect, 17-year-old Eugene Bailey, with murder.

On Monday during the bond hearing, prosecutors described how the street fight escalated from a dispute between two factions at Albert's high school to a beating that left the honor student dead. (CNN)

Bow Wow speaks about Derrion Alberts

"I just wanna first and foremost send my condolences to the whole Albert family, rest in peace," Bow Wow said in a self-made video. "We lost a young man who was an Honor Roll student, a kid I'm sure had a bright future and basically what I'm here to say is, I'm not trying to preach much, I just wanna say y'all, as young people, it's time for us to step up and take on responsibility. It's time for us to understand our role in life and understand that we are the next generation...We gotta stop this violence. We gotta stop the killing and killing one another...It's not just this situation, it's going on all around the world in every neighborhood, in your neighborhood...I'm doing my part, so you gotta do yours. And I encourage all my hip-hop peers and young hip-hop peers to take the stand too, and that's what I'm doing."

Platinum-Selling Hip-Hop/R&B Group Pretty Ricky's 'Tipsy In Dis Club' Video Debuts Top 10 (#9) On BET '106 and Park'

Heartthrobs and best-selling group Pretty Ricky are back and ready to once again show the world why they are one of the most formidable groups in music history. The video for "Tipsy In Dis Club," the first single from their upcoming self-titled album, premiered today on BET's highly-rated 106 and Park in the Top 10 (#9), officially kicking off what will surely become Pretty Ricky mania this year.

Their third album is appropriately titled because it is pure Pretty Ricky. Along with "Sexy Spec," Diamond Blue -- the songwriter, producer and engineer for all of the groups records -- Slick'Em and newest member, Lingerie have made an album sure to gratify the musical desires of their fanatical followers and earn them even more admirers. In fact, Diamond Blue says the new album -- set for a November 17th release -- is too good for explanation. "The songs are too sensual to describe in words. You have to hear it to fully grasp the erotic experience of the records." To that point, the lead single, "Tipsy In Dis Club," was released to a crushing radio and Web response. Spectacular's YouTube video for the track caused an Internet sensation.

Humanitarian Beyonce!

Ebony Magazine up for sale?

For 50 years, the Ebony Fashion Fair has been a glamorous social event in dozens of U.S. communities. The traveling fashion show has raised $55 million in college scholarships for African-American students. But this year the company behind the show, Johnson Publishing which publishes Ebony, pulled the plug on the event, citing lack of corporate sponsorship due to the recession. "This is devastating to us," Ann Lee, publicity chairwoman for the Charmettes, a civic group that staged the event in Broward County, Fla., told The Miami Herald.

It's been a year of excruciating decisions for publishing companies—layoffs, pullbacks, closures. Now it appears Johnson Publishing’s chairman and CEO, Linda Johnson Rice, has reached what must have been an agonizing decision: Johnson Publishing is seeking a buyer or investor for its flagship publication, Ebony, in an effort aimed at securing the survival of the nation's oldest magazine devoted to African-American life. It's unclear whether the company's other properties, including Jet, would be part of a possible sale. (Newsweek)

Video of Chris Brown Wacking Weeds......HAHA!

Student charged with the MURDER of Annie Le.

A Yale lab technician appeared in court and was charged with murder Thursday hours after his arrest in the killing of a graduate student whose body was found stuffed in the wall of the research building where they both worked.

Raymond Clark III, 24, kept his head bowed during the three-minute appearance in the suffocation death of Annie Le, also 24. He didn't enter a plea and said, "Yes, your honor," when asked whether he understood his rights. The judge then set bail at $3 million and sent him to a holding cell.

New Haven Police Chief James Lewis said Le's death was a case of workplace violence and elaborated little except to say reports that the two had a romantic relationship were untrue "to my knowledge."

"It is important to note that this is not about urban crime, university crime, domestic crime but an issue of workplace violence, which is becoming a growing concern around the country," Lewis said, adding he wasn't ruling out additional charges. (AP)

Beyonce Gets Sued by Abercrombie and Fitch

A battle between the pop star and the fashion brand just turned fierce.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co, the apparel retailer known for sexy advertising and casual looks, has sued the singer Beyonce Knowles, claiming her plan for a new fragrance to be launched in early 2010 infringes on its existing trademark.

In a federal lawsuit filed on Tuesday in Columbus, Ohio, Abercrombie claims a fragrance under the singer's "Sasha Fierce" label "poses a likelihood of confusion" with the retailer's own "Fierce" brand. (Reuters)

Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift's Speech at MTV VMA's

Kanye West has officially lost it! While at the 2009 MTV VMA's Kanye rudely interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for 'Best Female Video' by grabbing the mic from her and acknowledging Beyonce instead.

Beyonce was up against Taylor and lost, which clearly angered Kanye.

Kanye grabbed the mic from Taylor and said, "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you , I'm going to let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time...one of the best of all time!"

The audience then booed him until MTV cut to a clip. Unbelievable! You would think a 32-year-old man would know better than to insult a 19 year-old girl, but Kanye clearly doesn't.

According to MTV.com, once cameras cut away from the action, West flipped off the crowd and returned to his seat.

Check out the clip of the incident below... (Bossip.com)

Tyra Banks Launches Digital Fashion Mag

Tyra Banks has been tapped to start her own fashion magazine. But instead of following in her idol Oprah's footsteps with a print publication, Banks is going digital.

Banks' online style magazine, Tyra: Beauty Inside & Out, will feature beauty, health, relationship and fashion articles, mainly written by an in-house staff of six. The magazine, which Banks calls a "magaline" will also feature interactive audio posts, and behind-the-scenes footage from The Tyra Show and America's Next Top Model.

Banks was initially offered a print magazine, but reportedly turned it down due to the slump in the print media industry. The online mag is more so O, The Oprah Magazine, with a younger audience in mind, like her talk show enthusiasts.

"I'm really interested in helping women take control of their futures, take control of their destiny," Banks says. "One of my lines in my manifesto on the website is to be the CEO of your own life, be in control of your own life. (VIBE.COM)

She says she just wanted to lie back and raise her daughter. She also wanted to spend more time with her mom. Michael Jacksons death ruled a homicide.

Michael Jackson's death has been declared a homicide by Los Angeles coroners as they revealed the singer had a lethal cocktail of six different drugs in his body when he died.

Ending several weeks of feverish speculation following Jackson's sudden death in Los Angeles on June 25, the county coroner's office issued a brief statement Friday ruling that the superstar's death was unlawful.

The statement said that while "acute intoxication" from the powerful anesthetic propofol was the primary cause of death, Jackson, 50, had also suffered from the effects of other drugs in his system.

As well as propofol, powerful drugs including lorazepam, midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine and ephedrine were found in Jackson's body.

The coroner's statement said police investigators and public prosecutors had ordered that the full toxicology report concerning Jackson be withheld until further notice.
Jackson's family welcomed the findings.

"The Jackson family again wishes to commend the actions of the coroner, the LAPD and other law enforcement agencies, and looks forward to the day that justice can be served," the family said in a statement.

The coroner's announcement will fuel speculation that authorities are likely to charge Jackson's personal physician Conrad Murray in connection with the death. Cardiologist Murray was the last person to see Jackson alive. (AP)
